Methodology
Every month, DataFQ provides destinations with a comprehensive snapshot of how their tourism sector is performing in the eyes of travellers across major reputation and review platforms, including Google, TripAdvisor, Booking.com and other relevant sources.
Our reports are based on post-stay and post-visit feedback left by travellers after they have experienced a hotel, restaurant, attraction or other tourism-related business. This makes the data especially valuable: it reflects real visitor experiences, not assumptions or internal opinions.
We collect and structure publicly available reputation data from multiple platforms and convert it into destination-level intelligence. This includes ratings, subratings, review volume, source platform, travel composition, nationality or country of origin where available, and historical performance trends.
In addition to numerical scores, DataFQ analyses written reviews to understand the tone and meaning behind visitor feedback. Our sentiment analysis identifies recurring themes across areas such as service, cleanliness, food and beverage, facilities, location, value for money and overall experience.
This allows destinations to see not only what score they receive, but also why travellers feel that way and which parts of the visitor journey are driving satisfaction or dissatisfaction.

Clarifying Methodology, Source Coverage and Data Accuracy
Rating: 4.2/5
The report has strong potential and provides a useful starting point for destination intelligence, but there are clear areas that need improvement. The methodology should be explained more transparently, especially around data sources, property matching, sentiment analysis and source coverage. Some important platforms, such as GetYourGuide, Reddit and relevant forums, appear to be missing, which can affect the accuracy of the results. The advisory section would also benefit from more concrete, destination-specific recommendations. Overall, the concept is valuable, but accuracy and methodology need to be strengthened before the report can be fully trusted for strategic decisions.
Thank you for the valuable feedback.
DataFQ reports are based on publicly available post-stay and post-visit feedback from reputation platforms such as Google, TripAdvisor, Booking.com and other relevant review sources. We collect ratings, subratings, review volume, source data, travel composition, nationality where available, historical trends and written reviews.
Our sentiment analysis looks beyond scores to identify recurring themes such as service, cleanliness, food, value, location and overall experience.
Because our methodology is based on verified visitor feedback after an actual stay or visit, forums and Reddit are currently outside the scope. They can be useful for general perception, but they are not structured post-stay review sources.
You are right that source coverage and correct property matching are essential. In the Advanced version, destinations can manage their own properties in the dashboard, add relevant sources and create or correct connections to improve accuracy.
